Products are reviewed through a blind judging process designed to reduce bias and ensure evaluations are based on product merit alone. During scoring, judges review product information, ingredients, claims, and documentation without access to brand names, founders, marketing materials, or social proof. This approach helps maintain fairness, consistency, and integrity across all submissions.
Eligible products meet category requirements and align with conscious values such as ingredient transparency, safety, performance, and thoughtful impact. Each product must be suitable for independent evaluation. Final eligibility decisions are made by the Conscious Choice Awards to ensure fairness and consistency.
Yes. Brand size doesn’t matter. Indie, emerging, and established brands are all evaluated using the same criteria and standards. Every product is judged on its own merits.
Each product is independently evaluated by qualified experts in formulation, wellness, and sustainability. Products are scored using clear, category-specific criteria. There is no pay-to-win, and advertising or sponsorship does not influence results.
Submitted products are used for evaluation and are not returned. Any unused items may be donated after judging as part of our commitment to responsible product handling.
We handle products thoughtfully, ensuring they serve a purpose beyond evaluation. To reduce waste and support community organizations, unused items may be donated to vetted nonprofit partners. It’s a small way we put conscious values into practice with every submission.
